Good news is that we succeeded in pulling the sunken Chevy Corvette car out of the river at the boat launch in no time at all.

This is great work and not without risk. I am mystified as to how these vehicles get abandoned in the middle of the river, and how no one noticed. Cynics may say that this makes little difference to the environment .It does. If we all contributed with these thoughts in mind then the world may be a better place for future generations. 100% I know the story behind this car . This validates everything I was told I worked at the Glendale aluminum factory in the late 90s and my boss told us this story about being drunk and coked out and drove a new Corvette into the river in Portland and he specifically said it was banana yellow and built to the hilt! He told the story in such detail the only thing missing was proof of the vette !.

At 12:25 the railroad bridge in the background. Yay, part of my childhood. Used to be a cement plant in Lake Oswego directly across from that spot. Those huge round rusted things across the river was where the limestone filled barges were moored up.

I live at the top of that hill and have played at that boat ramp since I was a little kid. Crazy to see it getting so much press! It's definitely a slightly sketchy place; a few years ago a man died in his car that sank there. I think the official ruling was that he had a heart attack and the car simply rolled in, but anyone who's been there knows it is NOT a straight shot to make it down the hill and into the river.
