Niagra Ontario Bunkie!

"After our two granddaughters were born in the last few years, we always knew that we wanted a special space for them to form lots of happy memories and a destination for them close to home (without the long drive to a cottage). When we heard about Bunkie Life we made several visits to Rockwood looking for the perfect bunkie for our backyard. The Hideaway 199 with half loft was exactly what we were looking for.
We knew we wanted it to be full of light so we included extra windows; one on each wall at the ground level, including a cabana window on one side. In the spring of 2025, we will be building a deck on the cabana window side and wrapping it around to the front of the bunkie as well. A few other changes we made included safety improvements for our grandchildren; 2 handrails on the ladder (made from 1 3/8" dowel), non-slip treads on the steps and a gate at the top of the ladder. We also installed a mini split because we knew we would be using the bunkie and sleeping in it over the winter. It does a great job of keeping it warm and a ceiling fan keeps a nice even temperature throughout. We have a small electric fireplace for especially cold days but it also adds a nice ambience.
The girls love sitting upstairs in their own space, doing crafts and looking out the windows for animal and bird life. Our daughter who lives in Europe came home before Christmas and despite having seen the progress in photos over the past few months was still blown away with how peaceful and serene it was. Many people have commented that they could easily live in it. As soon as you step through the doors you feel any stress disappear. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out and now we know we will never move."
