1.5 years ago, I embarked on a journey with this drawing, a journey that took longer than I initially anticipated. This project presented a unique challenge, as capturing the essence of an elephant in this scale and style required both patience and perseverance. However, with every stroke, I can say that I've evolved and grown as an artist.
I've chosen to title this soft pastel painting "Memories," a reflection of the deep emotional reservoir that elephants possess. We all know them as creatures with remarkable memories, and I wanted to convey their depth of feeling. While I'm pleased with the outcome, I must admit that I'm in need of a well-deserved break from drawing wrinkles.
My aspiration for this piece is simple: I hope it imparts a sense of tranquility and fills people with joy when they gaze upon it. Nature has an incredible ability to soothe even the most stressed mind, and I aimed to capture a bit of that serenity within these pastel strokes.
