Deserved to be world famous. Who can beat the groove of this? Phenomenal. Better than ACDC and Skynrd by a country mile

Another great song on that outstanding Quo album. Catchy tune. Good singalong. Alan did a good job on the bass. Great Rocker.

Been a Quo fan since discovering them in the mid 80s. I have all their vinyl (used to make a trip to the record store on Saturday mornings after getting paid on the Friday) Then got it all on cd for when I want to play the songs but not risk scratching the records.. Made sense to me anyway. This one, Dirty Water and others are genius and pure Quo for me. Played loud of course. I am short of one album cover and have no problem buying the same record twice just to have the cover. I actually miss having to get up to change the record over half way through or put another record on. I even miss having to change the stylus (needle now and then too)

Best Quo song as far as I'm concerned, far better than the crowd pleasers that made them so famous. Did they ever played this live, anyone ?

Throbbing, pumpin' Bass from the great Alan Lancaster. This a great Rockin' song from the Best Band of all time, from one of their best albums. From the Summer of '79 in Australia. I love this band so My fave band of all time.

The OUTRO is brilliant in this great QUO song.
The Summer of '79 at Dee Why Beach, Sydney.
The Whatever You Want album was a 'return to form' for QUO after RAOTW and IYCSTH in '77 and '78.

Riding on a high
Riding so high now I'm leaving
Am I running far from my own fears
I'm never facing up
I never face up to the reasons
And never showing any of my tears
Cos I
Leave out the back way
Not the way that I came in
Beacuse it seems like the logical way, at the time

And then I run, run, run
And seek a hideaway
I'm on the run, run, run, I'm falling
Run, run I'm a runaway
Can I go back
Can I go back where I started
I always will remember my needs

Take me far away
Take me away to an island
And leave me hear to cry in my own tears
Try me once again
Try me again when you're passing
Maybe I'll remember you in years

I can't go out the back way
Just the way that I came in
I hope it seems like the logical way, at the time

Beacuse I'll run, run, run
And seek a hideaway
I'm on the run, run, run, I'm falling
Run, run I'm a runaway
Can I go back
Can I go back where I started
I always will remember my needs

Looking for so long
But I am listening longer
I haven't seen or heard a thing from you
I can't stay here
I couldn't stay here if you paid me
I can't give you any guarantees
I won't
Go out the back way
Not the way that I came in
Beacuse it seems like the logical way, at the time

And then I run, run, run
And seek a hideaway
I'm on the run, run, run, I'm falling
Run, run I'm a runaway
Can I go back
Can I go back where I started
I always will remember my needs

Can I go back
Can I go back where I started
I always will remember my needs
I always will remember my needs
I said, I always will remember my needs

Why QUO didn't make it big in the USA.
No Radio airplay.
Minimal Record company
Plus, in the USA there were hundreds of Boogie n Blues bands that were deemed to be overwhelming competition.
If you are American then you'll know who they are.
SMOKIN' IN THE BOYS ROOM by BROWNSVILLE STATION in 1974 is an awesome boogie tune.
FOGHAT, GRAND FUNK, LYNYRD SKYNYRD the list goes on.
STATUS QUO are better than all these bands, in my very biased opinion, though without enough record company support and not enough touring they didn't get the exposure required to 'crack' the US market.
It's all about publicity and promotion.

Who are all depicted on the LP cover ? OK I see MM of course, Bogart, Brando but who are the others ? The red haired lady in the front, the rabbit teethed kiddie, the Barnum boss like type with the tophat... ? It almost looks like a composite work of two artists, some of the portraits (Bogart, MM...) are of better quality than the others...
