The old vhs quality when Sadako crawls from the well is much creepier!

Sadako creeps me out more than Samara because her movements were more creepier and anormal.

The fingernails are the scariest part to me

The Ring was an incredible outstanding remake. A true classic.

Unfortunately, I've yet to watch Ringu, but I watched The Ring. Just from these clips they both have great things to note about them: Sadako's movements are more corpse-like and disturbing while Samara's are more ghost-like and eerie; Sadako looks more like a ghost while Samara looks more like a corpse; Sadako's stare is unsettling and iconic because of how they only show her eye while Samara's, again shows that she is a corpse. Both are pretty good, but for their own reasons

The movie: **guy moves back still on the floor slowly**
Me: **RUNNING FOR MY DAMN LIFE!!!**

People should understand that both movies are on point for their own public. Sadako requires japanese culture to be scary, she really don't depends on a gross visual or a scary face, unless you're a outsider who will not connect to the movie. Samara's changes are needed to adapt the movie to the american public.

The one eye of ringu was creepy however the movements of the ring was creeper and more supernatural imo. In addition to the fact that she kept her appearance from the vhs tape when entering the natural world made it more eerie

The fact some parts of this scene were cut off so both versions were in sync

Sadako is 100% More terrifying than samara was, that close up of the eye is incredibly good while samara, just is there

I find her being clean creepier because there's something off and weird about it. Besides, that's her spirit crawling out of the well, not her actual body. Why would some water and dirt from the well would be on her spirit? Her physical body was the dirty one when the main characters recovered her body from the well.

I love love Japanese horror films. I always prefer originals and I hate remakes but god damn that was a solid remake. Her face at the end of the remake was way more horrifying. I remember people outright screamed in the theater.

Sadako: “Look in my eye. Do I need eyedrops?”

Samara: “You left Aidan, so I’ll make sure you leave as well!”

The Ring still freaks me out. The music in this movie makes it so much more intense! Makes your hair stand up and it builds to each scary scene! I love it! Can’t believe it’s over 20 years old now! I remember when it came out!

the ring is still pretty scary but ringu is better in terms of subtlety, which can make something scary hit a lot harder. both of these scenes are great though!

The ring crushed it and is one of the only American remakes that are good 💪🏽

I do like that that ringu only shows her eye, but I like Samara so much better overall. The dirtiness of her, her sporadic movements, the fact that she’s still wet from the well and she drips water. She genuinely looks like a corpse that comes back to haunt people. Plus the tv effect on her looks great

Im realizing that Ringu was more "realistic" or natural. Both the movements, the color, etc

The way she trudges in Ringu once she leaves the well is so much scarier to me. An interesting effect that was filmed by having her actress walk backwards into the well.

This is really well edited and synch. No doulbe voice or anything. Round of applause please
