❤❤❤❤ Aaron Davis Hall. When I was studying at CCNY (1991-1993) during my "gap years" in between High School and College, I took several Theater courses that were held there. The Marian Anderson Theatre, Theatre B (where I did a couple of performances of one of my own original Multimedia Performance Art Pieces that I'd developed & originated up at the private college I was attending in Massachusetts during my second year there back in 1995) & Studio C ALL are such GREAT performance venues! Also enjoyed going to MANY performances at Harlem Stage (where I actually brought a peer colleagues original production that I was part of the cast of from my college in Massachusetts during my third year there down to NYC in 1997) & I also worked as Stage Production Crew on several Harlem Stage productions during 1991-1993 as well, because supporting and developing other Theater Artists (especially LGBTQ+ and Artists of Color) was a HUGE cornerstone of my own work in Theatre.

Shepard Hall and the other original Collegiate Gothic style buildings (like Compton-Goethals Hall) on the CCNY campus are just STUNNING! I actually shot some Film shorts for class projects around campus locations using the architecture as a backdrop. LOL, like you I also got lost SEVERAL times in the NAC just like you when I was at CCNY -- it's like a Labyrinth. Luckily, because I was a "gap year" non-degree seeking student back then I didn't have to utilize the NAC that much, BUT I did use the Cohen Library quite a bit. While I was studying at CCNY, I was also concurrently studying at three other CUNY campuses: Brooklyn College (where both my Parents taught located in the South Midwood/Victorian Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn where I'd grown up so I knew that campus like the back of my hand), Hunter College (on the Upper East Side) and at Lehman College in the Kingsbridge Heights neighborhood of the South Bronx.

I'd attended Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood, Brooklyn, (and like the majority of NYC Public High Schools that aren't "specialized MAGNET schools" like Stuyvesant, Brooklyn Tech, Brooklyn Latin, Staten Island Tech, HS For MS&E -- which is the High School you're talking about on CCNY's campus, Bronx Science or LaGuardia etc...) & it's DEFINITELY a: "CUNY/SUNY feeder school." It has exceptional pre-college programs though like AP, AP Capstone & CollegeNow! which I did during my Junior and Senior Years at CUNY Kingsborough and at CUNY BMCC (which were the 2 CUNY Community Colleges I attended before graduating High School) as well as a LOT of specialized Education and Arts programs that are unique and specific to Murrow itself and aren't offered at a lot of other NYC Public High Schools, which sets it apart and makes Murrow kind of unique.

Eventually, after my two "gap years" and accomplishing some personal and professional goals that I'd set for myself, I moved out of NYC in the late Summer of 1993 and up to Amherst, Massachusetts to fully pursue my Bachelor's Degree at Hampshire College in the Five College Consortium, and also studied at Amherst, Smith & Mount Holyoke Colleges and at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst. I applied to all 4 of the CUNY Colleges that I'd attended, (as well as to SUNY Purchase), so I am NOT discounting the CUNY/SUNY systems AT ALL -- you can get an amazing college education through either system.

I am a HUGE proponent of Public Higher Education, and I teach out in California now at City College of San Francisco (CCSF) which is a member of the California Community Colleges and at San Francisco State University (SFSU) which is part of the California State University (CSU) system, so I've been teaching on public College and University campuses since 1998. For me though back when I fully entered College, I realized that I wanted & needed a REALLY personalized and individuated small Liberal Arts College setting where I could COMPLETELY change my pace, design my own education and curriculum, be COMPLETELY creative and just slow it down from New York's fast pace and study in a more quiet, laid-back and rural campus setting because that's exactly what I NEEDED to do for myself back when I was transitioning from High School to College. Every student is different in their experiences and journey.

I graduated in 2012. This evening I was feeling CCNY nostalgic and stumbled across this video. I still live in NYC but I have not visited campus in quite a long time. This video brought back some amazing memories. As some other comments stated, the NAC building has not changed much. I have an older brother who graduated from CCNY in 2000 and I remember visiting him in the Marshak building when he was a Sophie Davis student. My parents used to drop him off to his Harlem apartment every Sunday night and I was enamored by the beauty of the campus. I've been obsessed with CCNY since I was a child and so it was a no brainer that I would eventually go there myself. You've earned yourself a subscriber and I am looking forward to seeing more CCNY related content!

I graduated in 1988, then I moved out of state to take a job. CCNY did a fabulous job of preparing me for a career in electrical engineering. I have so many good memories, but I haven't been back to the campus. This video is awesome, a lot hasn't changed, except for all of the development south of the NAC building. In my day, you never went south of the NAC building. The NAC was an ugly building back then as well, but those windows have gotten really bad, I didn't even know they were plastic. We almost always got lunch from the bodegas on Amsterdam Ave, the cafeteria in the NAC was only good for breakfast.

Looking at this is nostalgia. I graduated in January 2019 and what a memory to see this. My dad graduated from the same college in 1977.

Love this video. You should do a part 2 & show inside Shepard & the Gargoyles we discovered during class. Also the library & the private study rooms on each floor is an great place to go to study & do homework (long as it’s not the 3rd floor) lastly all the great views you get of the city from the NAC building

Yup, things hasn’t changed much since late 80‘s at CCNY - that’s when I graduated from School of Engineering. I moved to Bay Area a week after graduation and never came back to visit CCNY when I visit NYC. My experience at City was a mixed bag. Some professors were very good and some were downright terrible. I heard about some policy changes since then specifically in Admissions - hopefully for the better. I just consider it as a life experience which has helped me shaped to appreciate my career as a Software Engineer.

I suggest visiting Wingate next. Those are the student government offices and space on which students have fun and hang out. Great video regardless

I’m someone who needs to map out a new place before I go and this was just what I needed before I begin classes here. This is so helpful, thank you!

Great video of CCNY I plan on transferring to CCNY in 2024 after I get my associate degree from BCC. Thank for showing where everything is, so I don't get lost on campus like where the ID office, and library. MY cousin also got master's degree from CCNY, and is an alumni of CCNY, and she went to John Jay for her bachelor's degree. What advice would you give me!

School looks nice I graduated in 1994. I believe the architecture building is new. I believe the building that was there was called the Y building. I really enjoyed my time there. Do they still have club hours on Thursday's at noon?
