"Permaculture is meeting human needs while enhancing ecosystems" that was such a concise description!

My parents in Fiji practiced permaculture from 1930s to 1970s then we migrated to California and dad continued until he could no more. I learned 95 of what they practiced and incidently moved to Central Valley where foods is grown. I've never used commercial herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizer. I'm now 65 and teaching others since about 12 years

My brother and I started our agriculture under standing over a decade ago, he bought chickens also. I have some site plan drawings for the garden I currently have however too much has happened with this soil therefore it is not viable for growth; and certainly not of tropical food items, it's also too small for varied crop growth.

We therefore decided to buy elsewhere and use our current location for positive cultural practices undertaken here instead.

Permaculture has been fascinating to me since a child when my nan used to teach me about the plants herbs and other things in her garden, my school/friends grew cress which was the start of my agriculture/permaculture excitement, my friends and I at that age went on to make paper and perfume. Living plants have been a theme throughout the entirety of my life to be honest. I can now grow my mum some Orchids instead of buying them.

Very impressed hearing you and your wife. Good video. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much. Looking forward to digesting this whole series and then some. Fwiw, after watching this video, here is my definition of Permaculture: "Using lessons taken from examples found in natural systems to harmonize the interface between the human and their habitat in a way that maximizes mutual regeneration, respect, sustainable life and life-force while minimizing entropy, waste, disconnection and degradation. This requires embracing practices that preserve the cyclical (non-linear) movement of matter and energy. "

Thank you for providing this course. When you assigned practice work in Part 2, I came back to Part 1 to see if I missed something to gain the most from this as I prepare to work on a 55 acre property in the Sam Houston forest in EastbTexas.
