SMITE: Whatever happened to Hou Yi

Taking a closer look at what happened to Hou Yi in season 2 and 3. Going through various nerfs, buffs to other characters, changes to items and so on. With him generally being considered a high tier character, it's quite interesting to take a step back and check out what led to this, when after his release, he was considered a low tier god.

i never build Qin's on Hou Yi since the other portion of Mark (% damage increase based on health) doesn't affect Qin's damage lol, I just go for the big daddy crits. Also for a very long time in S2 Ricochet was bugged and didn't have proper hit detection, you could shoot it straight through a wave of minions and some of them wouldnt even take damage from it

Nice vid as always. Dunno why thought but watching this made me think, I reckon Duke could do some great God lore vids. Like as well as whatever happened to "insert god here" I think your commentary style would fit really well with a, who is "insert god here" Dunno if you would be interested in making them as a lot of your content is technical but either way I think you could do a great job with some lore vids.

Do a whatever happened to Vulcan? I near never see him played but when I do I think I do great and when other people play him they'll play him something like support or jungle and still do well. Thoughts?

What would you nerf about him though? You have to be careful about nerfing his 1 since that's his main wave clear ability and his main damage/poke tool. If you nerf that, it'll have a huge impact on the character as a whole. The only thing I can see nerfing his the damage or scaling on his 3, as it seems to be a bit too powerful when used offensively.

I don't really feel like Qin's Sais is what made him strong, flat out, it's just the meta benefiting hunters which benefits him along with the penetration on 2 in general as Hou Yi going crit, qin's, or both, it doesn't matter, he's still going to shred whoever he marks and kill them very easily compared to what other hunters have to go through.

Hou Yi is one of the funnest gods in my opinion... but I really wish they would nerf him because his skill floor has really decreased. His skill cap has always been insanely high.

I still believe hou yi is the top hunter and needs nerfed no other hunter can do as much dmg so quickly and effortlessly than him since his stun without the bounce still does massive dmg
