A 10-year-old boy who weighs 31 stone - and is the fattest child in the world - is to undergo weight loss surgery in a bid to save his life.

Mohammed Arbrar, from Pakistan, struggles to stand after regularly scoffing meals meant to feed four adults.

Despite weighing just 8lb at birth, his parents say they were stunned when he began gaining weight rapidly - and tipped the scales at three stone when he was just six months old.

His doctors say he is the fattest boy in the world - weighing even more than Indonesian Arya Permana, who hit headlines when he was revealed to weigh 29 stone three years ago.

As a Pakistani, I know the culture she belongs too…she is from a lower class village background where being overweight is a sign of wealth..it means you are wealthy enough to buy expensive milk, meat and fruit and can eat a lot….people over feed their sons in particular because boys are cherished more than daughters…she even said she was proud of his plump frame in the beginning…this is a very backward mentality that caused her to overdress him

The parents should be utterly and completely ashamed of themselves to allow their child to get this heavy!

This is absolutely neglect and abuse, the parents should serve prison time. They're basically killing their child by allowing him to eat whatever he wants and gain tons of weight to the point where he's literally crippled.

Some people nowadays are just weak and pathetic excuses for parents. They allow their children to get away with murder, coddle them and allow them to have whatever their hearts desire without setting up some boundaries.

I am so glad I have a backbone when it comes to my kids. Parents nowadays do not understand or use the word "NO!" when it comes to their offsprings.
