I don’t like that they made the burn book call Janis a pyro freak instead of shaming her for her perceived sexuality. The entire point of Mean Girls is to examine idealized vs realistic versions of femininity. The Plastics shame others for not fitting their pink and pretty and unrealistic behavior, and Janis being a confident punk rock girl who doesn’t fit gender stereotypes directly challenges Regina, hence calling her a d*ke. Someone who follows such strict gender roles WOULD be a homophobic bully. How does Janis allegedly liking to light things on fire link to the underlying themes of femininity and gender nonconformity?

The old is the absolute gold! I can't believe Conrad (Christoper Briney i think) got the role Aaron!! I will always see him as Conrad (from the show "The Summer I Turned Pretty/TSITP)

2024 Mean Girls could have been SO much better. The movie was crazy, and all over the place. And the product placement was INSANE.

This always makes me feel old. When I was a kid, watching the Breakfast Club felt like it was so long ago! Huge difference from 1984-2004 compared to 2004-2024

The new one wouldve been so much better if they had cast someone else as cady. Everyone perfectly fit and played their roles but angourie rice just didn't live up to expectations.

I do personally think that the 2004 movie is better but i love the 2024 movie as well. Both are good in their own ways

Honestly I don't see why people can't just watch movies to enjoy them without getting upset about every little thing? I get that because it's a remake it's going to be compared to the original but if you don't want to actually give something a chance then just don't watch it and as a more recent teenager I'm happy to say I loved the movie and it's actually a pretty damn good representation of how high school is/was for us so I could be a tad biased

Honestly I feel like a lot of people need to get over the fact that the new version isn't representative of their high school anymore but it's not supposed to be, it's representing highschoolers of 2024 now rather then those of 2004
