BEST Control For the WORST Summer Lawn Weed!

Learn how to control the worst weed in the lawn without killing the grass. This is a summer weeds that is a nightmare and it in almost every lawn that I see. The weed is nutsedge but I want to include kyllinga as well. These weeds are terrible and love wet areas in the lawn. I share many different herbicides that can be used to control yellow nutsedge, purple nutsedge and kyllinga. I will admit that none of these strategies is perfect but they are effective in controlling these weeds in the lawn.

I have yellow nutsedge and Sedgehammer has worked over the past 5+ years. Some pops up every year but I'm on the lookout and spray ASAP. Just had 11" rain in 11 days and had an extraordinary outbreak of yellow nutsedge. I'm out there spraying and getting control again. Sighs...

Southern California checking Not sure if it's St. Augustine or centipede grass in my bermuda lawn. Tips on getting rid of either one? My soil ph is a little high at around 7.2. Trying to get the soil more acidic.

I have had great success spraying twice, four weeks apart, a month before the end of the growing season. The roots are weakened for the winter instead of regenerating over the winter. I only use sulfosulfuron with a surfactant..

I live in a low area, i fight nutsedge every year. It definitely can develop a resistance to herbicides. Use the right stuff people.

Ironically, the most difficult weed I deal with in turf up north is Bermuda grass. She's a beast. Its even one of my most difficult weeds in non crop areas. Glyphosate doesn't consistently work anymore. Alfalfa is another plant (legume) that is very difficult. Where I'm from used to be mostly farm land, now its mostly developed into residential. Alfalfa pops up everywhere. Fluroxopyr brings her to her knees tho no problem. Cool video!

I’ve been having issues for years with Field Bindweed in my yard. What’s the best practice/herbicide for this weed? I’ve been told to use Celsius but I’m not seeing that weed labeled for control with that herbicide. I don’t want to use glyphosate to be honest.

I seeded my yard with Monaco Bermuda a little over a month ago. Its filling in nice but I'm getting a lot of nutsedge. Is it still too early to treat with sledgehammer?

East Tenn here.... and Im having Great luck with clearing everything in turf grass.... except Creeping Charlie... I have used Blindside.. and it seems to help.... any better Ideas..????
