Julio Friedmann, Chief Scientist at Carbon Direct joins BNN Bloomberg to discuss a breakthrough in fusion technology. Scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s National Ignition Facility produced a nuclear fusion reaction resulting in a net energy gain. Friedmann says we are a long way from a commercial reactor.

They should be able to do more at the Large Hadron Collider in Europe. It's a much bigger lab than Livermore

Not a breakthrough! They used 5 megajoules from the grid to power the 2 megajoule laser and get 3 megajoules out of the fusion reactor. The Lawrence Livermore fibs big time.

They can't make a commercial fusion reactor. The theory is wrong. The design is stupid. A working commercial fusion reactor can be made in 1-2 years. There is a solution. But nobody wants it. The main thing is empty talk and to deceive investors. Коммерческий термоядерный реактор у них не получится. Теория неправильная. Конструкция глупая. Действующий коммерческий термоядерный реактор можно сделать за 1-2 года. Есть решение. Но это никому не надо. Главное пустая болтовня и обмануть инвесторов.
