Don't care whether it's improvement or just bringing back the old trackpoint buttons... I support the decision. When mainly use trackpoint (instead of touchpad), those buttons are essential.

I just love how 'customer feedback' sounds so much like 'raging shitstorm' and plumetting sales ^^

@Lenovo: Just admit that you should have listened to the ergonomics guy instead of the one who talks about 'angles' and 'design'.

I love this track pad. I don't use it the way they show here. I use my left hand thumb to left click while moving the cursor with my right index finger. I love it. I feel that my hands are not as strained and feels more efficient for me. Does anyone know of a portable version of this? I have an x1 carbon and I hate my finger prints all over it. I want to buy a keyboard and pair it with a trackpad with this design.

Thank you so much for this design change! Now I might have incentive to toss in my t400, which I still love, but I still might do a motherboard and cpu upgrade before that because I love my t400 so much.

Is there a touchpad with buttons for the Legion 5 series please!?
I'm considering getting a Legion 5 17" configured with a Ryzen 4800 and a 2070 but i have never liked any laptop with a single flat touch pad with out buttons!

I love ThinkPads, but I won't buy a laptop without mouse buttons. When I touch a button, my cursor doesn't move around arbitrarily. Seems like this should be basic HID design, but here we are.

I have an older P50 with six independent mouse buttons that are remapped, and I use them regularly. I was really thankful that Lenovo remained with its utility when I bought it. But I'm disappointed in the current design.

Maybe in the next few years when I'm back in the market, I'll see if the touchpad has improved. For now, I'll be looking for alternatives to a Thinkpad.

so they did improved the trackpoint's buttons or they just put it back in and claim it to be a new thing?

still seems unusual to have the click buttons below the trackpad, but it probably works out pretty well since you probably will use tap to click most of the time

I just hope my T530 will work forever :) This is not innovation, this is just being like others. It bugs me they messed up the X240. I bought an HP to replace my (now pretty old) X201.

I love my t480s but the left and middle button sometimes they make the click sound but does not register, gets annoying.

Well, what I want: 100x65 mm (NOT the 100x75 mm) with 3 physical buttons AND matte glass surface. Also with some grease inside so it would not rattle like garbage.
