Which of the Lion King movies did you like better?

I always assumed that Mufasa got to the elephant graveyard so quickly was due to Zazu. I figured after being launched out of the birdie boiler he flew back to Pride Rock and told Mufasa what was happening.

There is no secret why adult Simba did not recognize Rafiki -- he was too young to remember the ceremony.

The 1994 version TOPS the live animation version from 2019 in every aspect.

I prefer the way Taka became Scar in this prequel rather than in The Lion Guard

Not really. The land, pride held by Taka(Scars) lineage was already lost to Siros. Scars didn't win over that particular pride or land which he was entitled too. He didn't defend it. The pride that Mufasa won over is "Mele". It's a new land

I wish they would have just called this something else. People are going to keep throwing it in with The Lion King, everything doesn't need a multiverse. The Lion King version says they're biological brothers, no adoption. Every villian doesn't have to have a sympathetic reason to be a bad guy, some villians just enjoy being villainous.

I love the prequel….. Mufasa death by Scar/Taka is so much more impactful, since Taka saved mufasa the same way TWICE

i wonder if Mufasa had used scar's original name Taka as he's hanging off a cliff if he would have lived. Because it would have meant that Mufasa forgave him etc.

New lion king also explain why animals from the pride lands consider mufasa as their king even thought he is a predator...

3:21 wrong, you didn’t watch the lion king, mufasa- found them because ZaZu was with them, but launched off somewhere else when they where getting chased by the hyenas! Stop messing with my childhood and make your own movies

This puts the storyline in perspective. I never knew about this backstory of those 2 until now. I need to see the Mufasa movie asap.

Best review of Mufasa ever! Thankyou for the detailed analysis of the valuable points that most other dumb pessimistic critics missed, and thankyou for a good honest review.

I prefer that the "live-action" is deemed separate canon as it tarnished both Mufasa's and Scar's build as characters. Mufasa is always of royal descent alongside Scar, hence his name. Disney retconned that just because they want him to be more "grounded and relatable to the people" despite him already being relatable and loved as a character -_-

Cub taka pulling cub Mufasa to safety with his arms around his brother’s body is so cute it’s like a baby hugging a baby

Looper, please think twice before considering the recent CG movies as "canon" to The Lion King.
They made Mufasa and Scar not actual brothers, when clearly the intent of the original film is that Scar's betrayal is so much worse because he is a blood relative of Simba and Mufasa. It takes after King Claudius in Hamlet, or Prospero and Antonio in The Tempest. Making Taka/Scar the rightful heir to his family's kingdom is a sick attempt at trying to justify Scar's murder of Mufasa and Simba to take back the throne. There is nothing that this new film does that enriches what was already well presented in the original.

Anyone else thinking if Mufasas father was also a king of his own pride? If he was it would also mean that mufasa was a blood of a king

The prequel is only canon to the love action and not the original lion king 1994.

Lets clarify
Mufasa NEVER stole taka's destiny, he became first king of milele RIFHTFULLY, taka had options to leave the pride and start kingdom of his own(wich i can see ending up in a disaster) but he stayed. For me being step brothers is actually w move. Original was planned that scar and mufasa would be just friends or cousins but were made brothers for the plot. Honestly getting his signature scar by fighting someone OR his brother makes way more sense than abusive father or raged buffalo or a cobra wich by the way IS DEADLY, HOW DID SCSR SURVIVED THAT VENOM, this story(who is canon to live action lion king) makes sense than other versions of the original.

All of the CGI Animated remakes are a separate universe.

The Original Lion King, 1 1/2 and Simba’s Pride are the canonical storylines.

And if you wanna go the extra mile, the Mufasa “prequel” is a combination of TLK 94’, The Lion Guard, Lion King 1 1/2, Simba’s Pride and the book A Tale of Two Brothers, which is basically the source for where they got a lot of references that they put in here. IYKYK

Don’t spread misinformation that this movie is the “true” origin story. It’s a pretty decent interpretation of multiple different origin stories for these characters mashed up into one.
