In any almost profession, if you recommended the top 6 experts and didn't include any who passed a solid tertiary educational background in that discipline you'd be laughed "out of town".
But because so few people truly understand the word's definition, and so many THINK marketing is a synonym for advertising and promotion... snake oil salespeople, great self-promoters, and opportunistic grifters get a LOT of airplay.
Seth Gidon expresses some sociological observations - but is a far stretch as a marketing expert.
Gary V is a vocal commentator with some admirable qualities but is constrained by lacking formal education and his own experience set.
Neil Patel is a promotions specialist in online communication media - not a marketing expert.
Larry Kim provides a tool for people like Neil Patel - a toolmaker of promotional devices.
Jon Loomer is a social media expert - this (AGAIN) is NOT marketing ... nor is SEO which is simply an activity in the practise of online digital promotion... a small subset of the Promotional Mix, which in turn is a small subset of the marketing mix.
Sadly, this and many other articles on the internet simply serve to confuse people who are struggling to define the science of marketing and proper marketing expertise.
