So cool! What an amazing connection with these ocean travelers! I love the smallness of the world. ✨

Love them, they’re awesome. I need to see more of their dog! So close too, what a shame.
Never say never for the flaperon, if we don’t get the pledges in this round that is. Once we get more buoy Lepas information, interaction and publicity, we could be able to launch the flaperon in March 2026. It would be great to see it launch 2025 though. 🤞🏻
You’re most welcome. Can’t wait to get back at it.😊

Hi Jeff. Just a thought. As the barnacles filter out nutrients, if human bodies give off a specific nutrient, would it be possible to look for trace nutrients within the barnacles recovered?

Having cruisers grappling NOAA drifters with boathooks to collect barnacle samples seems like a potentially destructive approach that could disrupt the ongoing data collection. Photometrics is an excellent way to measure barnacles, as I've described previously, and you now discovered in your living room experiment. Please have your citizen scientists take only photos of the barnacles, the higher resolution the better. They could toss a lifering or anything of measured size next to the drifter to calibrate the barnacle sizes. The drifters are often attached to a deeper drogue, and pulling it onto a boat to scrape (?!) barnacle samples is likely to change the configuration of the drifter, and possibly impact the instrumentation. Since most drifters have been in the water for quite a while, I don't know how you will gauge when growth began other than by the logged water temperature data from a drifter entering the reproductive temp range of the newest barnacles. Finding cruisers to retrieve drifters passing near Reunion seems iffy, since we only have the analyzed flaperon barnacles for reference. To reiterate the info you said you are still processing, photo evidence shows that the flaperon barnacles began growth AFTER beaching, which explains multiple paradoxes, and disrupts previous conclusions about drift timing.

I think AI will be able find MH370 given enough data.

A land lubber should NOT estimate a course. Give the raw location points and times to the SAILOR, they are IN the local winds and currents and will have a better estimate.
