Gutted about the performance issues tbh. Not fussed about fancy graphics but performance is a non negotiable for me. The Witcher 3 shows what can be done on this console. They need to fix this and fast.

I understand the criticism toward the series that it's historically a reskin from generation to generation, but I think this is the first time the series has launched with serious performance issues.

Sadly, pretty sure the next releases won't be much better performance wise. In Arceus we gave them a pass because it's a new thing for pokemon. Scarlet and Violet was a way to cement that gameplay and brush up on the performance. Performance has gone worse. So they don't really care because people will still give them billions despite the unfinished state of these games.

I dont think only a few liked arceus- i think most did. Violet and scarlet are a big step back.

I think I'll wait for a sale to pick this one up. I love Pokemon but the game deserves way better than what Game Freak can give it. Like imagine Pokemon made by Monolith or Platinum

Soon as I booted up Scarlet and got to where I could move the camera which way I wanted it. I could see the framerate drop simply going left to right. I just knew it wasn't going to run well after that. I hope it can be fixed in patches and that gamefreak aren't too lazy. Then about the time I got to the first Pokecenter/market. I seen an NPC just walking down the road with their pokemon and it was as you said stop animation. Even in the classroom like you pointed out in the video it too looked like that.

I wouldn't call this a low poly "artstyle". They just can't do more. This is just the best they can come up with.

Completely agree that it doesn't feel like a first party full price premium game. Few minutes in and I already experienced issues that I never had playing Arceus. I hate that I'm a sucker for this game franchise and that I'm still going to keep playing it in this state as long as I don't encounter any game breaking bugs.

I am so glad someone brought up the text progression/selection sound, something about it just drilled right into my head and I had to turn the sound effect audio down straight away.

@Mark I never think of your opinions as "negative." I hate in this current day how any sort of opinion that isn't positive is instantly negative. It's called constructive criticism. You clearly want something to be better and you're passionate and honest about it and you're letting everyone, including the developers, know your grievances.

Look at Baldo! Your videos and opinions about it helped the developers improve the game.

I'm just so sick of everyone saying a person is being mean or overly critical because they don't instantly like something. Things are allowed to be bad and letting artists know their work isn't up to snuff helps them improve, if they are willing to listen!

I gave it to my nephew today as an early Christmas gift and he seems to be having a blast. Too bad it's in such a rough state.
I'm not sure about getting it for myself yet. I might wait for some patches, but there's a possibility I'll wait forever.
