Shoot the Moon

This nostalgic, addictive game is fairly simple in concept: roll the bearing ball uphill by moving the metal rails back and forth. The player who gets the ball to roll the furthest wins while also exercising hand-eye coordination. All in a day’s work—or play as we like to say. Plus, this Marbles-branded (and retro-chic!) take on the classic Shoot the Moon game features some quality updates such as the fine walnut wood construction and enamel-coated rails (for an even smoother ride).

My aunt bought it for me for Christmas and it's really hard but very fun at the same time. I practiced for a few hours and got moon a few times.

I remember this a little differently. The sticks started all the way out and you were only allowed to pinch the sticks closer so you had to pick the exact right speed, too fast and the ball wouldn't roll through and roll back to the start, too slow and the ball would drop too soon

I just got this for Christmas 2024. It's similar except the targets are bottom to top are Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto. I can get it to Jupiter, but not above, yet

I found out about this game in my classroom when I got to play it. I played it a few times, but they only had it out for3 days the whole year.

I remember this as a kid, i think the strategy was to just keep wiggling the sticks if i remember correctly. Either that or you're supposed to pinch it right as it passes the atmosphere

I have a question... I'm thinking of getting this for my granddad who's in his 80s and has Alzheimer's. I thought he might recognize and enjoy something he may have had or played when he was young. But, would he physically be able to go this ok? Not really playing the game, nobody would be keeping score or anything like that, but the physical mechanics of it... Good idea or frustration? :S
