Eck covering a topic like this is something I didnt know I wanted until now. I'm definitely up for more content like this!

The biggest problem with any technocracy is intellectual inbreeding. You can only climb the ranks if you buy into the beliefs of the people at the top of the hierarchy. This in turn creates stagnation. “The purpose of science is to question science.”

This is a cool video! Makes the Technocracy ethic in Stellaris make a lot more sense.

This was a great out-of-the-blue video from you Justin! I didn’t even know this topic existed, I appreciate your breakdown and commentary and it was a great length!
You should occasionally sprinkle these “real world” elements into your content, was a great “cleansing of the palate”

5:11 that's not getting rid of money, it's just substituting paper currency for an energy based one.

There's just something about Eck's voice that makes research of any kind very enjoyable to listen to.

This is really cool to see you cover this! The Technocracy Movement was a rather fascinating movement and this superstate is a cool “What If” type thing

Btw, fun fact: but Technocracy had a following in Canada, Britain, Germany and Russia (under their own unique branch known as Machism). In some ways, Singapore is similar to a Technocracy, though not fully realized.

The Technocracy movement was actually banned in Canada in the early years of WW2.

As a technocrat myself. I approve this message. You very clearly called out both the strengths and weaknesses of the older proposed system.

I think this would leave many people out of the benefits. Skilled workers such as Carpenters, mechanics, plumbers, etc... would be left working full weeks while others enjoy their cushy 20 hour work week yet receiving a similar compensation.

As a spokesperson for the technocratic party, I thank you for making a video concerning our ideas and the things we wish to fix

I belief that more content like this is the way of the future for the channel. A more broad sifi/future will be more commercially successful in the long run, however doing what you love is most important.

This idea of technocracy and a post need society reminds me a lot of the United Federation of Planets from Star Trek, and your criticisms of why it wouldn't necessarily solve problems like crime, murder and racism are legitimate criticisms I have with the overall believability of the UFP and why I could never take it seriously.

As a supporter for Technocracy, thank you for making this video. Though the idea of Technocracy has changed a lot since the times of the Technocratic movement.

From what I've seen in Star Trek, the United Federation of Planets seems like a version of this, but with the government having more elements of a representative democracy.
