Every 98-99 cylinder I’ve done has the timing mark off on the valve left of the exhaust port. It had to be installed 1 tooth off for the secondary valve to open fully. It was a mistake from factory I guess. I’m not sure if this was the case for other years or not.

I have a quick question the two bolts that retain the main power valve in the upper part of the cylinder, seem like they don’t capture the exhaust valve, I’m thinking about putting a washer on there to take up the space so it keeps the main exhaust port valve from sliding out

hey so i have a 04 kx250 and its my first time cleaning out the power valves and when i set the sub valves the two ports are completley open and good but then when i put the allen bolt in and connect my main valve the only open about half way. what is causing this?! ive took it apart about 10 times to see if i did something wrong but it stays the same everytime. thank you

Hi Greg, love your channel. Hey I'm in Australia & in process of rebuilding 2006 kx250 2 stroke. Chasing advise on big end rebuilds, had advice from an old aussie dirt bike mechanic saying don't use hotrod bottom ends. If so who else or where do you go, any help much appreciated
