Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

Missed opportunity: James said he doesn’t say hi because it’s not in the task. They could have snuck in a task that says “Say Hi to Alex. Your Time Starts Now.” The other 4 would have negative time (at least with the precedent set by previous episodes) and tie for first while James would have been immediately stuck in last.

I honestly think that after finding out that James never answers the "Hi", I would have been the petty one making a task saying "Greet Alex Horne. Fastest wins. The time started when you entered the room" and then having James horribly fail that task, because at the time of opening the task, everyone else will already have completed it.
