So I emailed the company to make sure: Indeed this unit only supports airplay and not airplay2. Too bad, I really like the unit and still might get it (no USA dealer but there's a Paris trip in my post-COVID world planned) but having a house with a mix of speakers /HomePods, being able to control and balance them via airplay2 is desired.

Hi Hans, today Marantz brings also a network receiver, based on the PM8006 amplifier, but with a digital part that uses the HEOS app. The PM7000N. I'm wondering if you could do a review of this new Marantz product that is designed to reproduce all kinds of digital files. I would very much like that, because I find your opinion of great value.

Not having a dedicated button to select the HDMI input from the remote is a bit unfortunate for me, specially in a device of this "category".
However, I have read somewhere that, when connected via HDMI ARC, some TVs can control the amplifier (on/off, volume up/down). Wouldn't that be the case for The PlayStream A7 connected to some, if not most of, modern TVs with HDMI ARC?
By the way, what about a video about sound via HDMI? If I am not wrong, HDMI was designed to support high quality video/audio. How would it compare to audio via the other connectors described in your videos (SPDIF, AES, USB, I2S, ..)? Thanks Hans for this review and all the great stuff.

Hi,
My Playstream A7 have some issues, I don't know if it's a problem or a default behavior:
> The device requires manualy power up (remote control or button) but I need to power up based on DLNA (spotify startup the device, like bluesound, marantz, denon, audocast, ieast etc..), my playstream is placed in a rack (in other room) and makes it unusable.
> Many problems with spotify volume control, small jumps, only have sound between 50% and 100%, from 0 to 50, sound is to low or mute..

Any firmware update planed ?
