✭The Dallas Cowboys New DB Coach Maurice Linguist

Newly hired head coach Mike McCarthy is continuing to build his staff. Texas A&M cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist will be leaving the college ranks to join the Dallas Cowboys as their secondary coach.

Maurice Linguist replaces Kris Richard, the team’s former secondary coach and passing game coordinator who was once thought of as their future defensive coordinator. Linguist has been a hot defensive candidate in college over the past two years.

After serving as Mississippi State’s secondary coach in 2016, he was promoted to assistant head coach for the Minnesota Gophers while retaining his defensive back duties. Linguist’s unit ranked 11th in passing defense in 2018, earning him the cornerbacks’ job at Texas A&M the following season.

Linguist has been a coach for 13 years with stops at Baylor, JMU, Buffalo, Iowa State, Valdosta State, Minnesota, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State along the way. He was also the position coach for current Cowboys’ safety Donovan Wilson in 2018.

I’m 55 yrs old you can teach me the 4 C’s as well. My point is.. if we don’t have the talent to capitalize on good coaching we’re just spinning our wheels. I would have thought coach Kris Richard, from Seattle and the “ Legion of Boom “ should have made a bigger impact on our DB’s. The message is void when the talent doesn’t measure up. Hopefully, the new coaching staff will address this through the draft / free agency. Because as of right now, I have as many INT’s as some of our current starters lol.

Voch Lombardi..cowboys fan 1980..fifth quarter cowboy are on the fence with a wait and see because of fear that jerry jones gonna throw a monkey wrench in it . but, if stephen jones can hold jerry back and say' Dad Dad just trust the process let the coaching staff takes it's couse rome was not built in a day but our case this is our first season under the McCarthy Era'!!! If kinlaw isn't there at 17, trade slightly down in the first with Miami or something and get Winfield Jr and a CB like Diggs or similar at better spots in the draft. 2 solid day 1 starters at DB's for the price of 1 with mckenney or delpit
