I love how the scorpion mating dance is literally a dance between two scorpions.

YES! I am way to happy to see this in my subscription feed. Scorpions are awesome, I was looking forward to this episode. Great job covering them, it's fun hearing about these creepy crawlies.

Side-note: I am a scorpio

The scorpion vs ant scene in honey I shrunk the kids made me cry when I was a kid lmao

I'll admit it's kinda cute how they carry their babies on their backs. But as far as actually encountering them in person, that's still gonna be an extra large NOPE from me.

I was obsessed with scorpions as a kid (still am) and the scorpion scene in in Honey I Shrunk the Kids was my favourite. (except I wanted the scorpion to win!)

I was stung by a bark scorpion when I was 5 and lost consciousness and nearly died.

Also, I'm a Scorpio.

I spent first 11 years of my life in Asia and saw a lot of large Asian forest scorpions (genus Heterometrus) both in the wild and in captivity. The latter was mainly in butterfly farms where they were kept in large pits. I was always surprised by how tolerant they were of each other. In fact they would cluster together in groups around the pit as if... I don't want to anthropomorphise, but I swear it looked like they were snuggling!

I used to be afraid of scorpions but now after I watched you video I think that scorpions are actually pretty cool! Thanks again, AFF!

I had a male Emperor Scorpion. He wasn't as fun to watch. My tarantula was cool

There are those who keep scorpions as pets. These are usually emperor scorpions, and although they are not sold in the big-box pet shop chains they are sold at many independent pet shops.

Some years ago, Mom got stung by one. Just into Northern California’s Sierra Nevada foothills, the wound hurt for about 5 minutes.

Mojave Desert, Southern California: When I was about 11, I saw one in my grandparents’ just-rebuilt kitchen (after a house fire). It had its stinger pointed at us! We killed it with a broom, I think.
