Also look at if your job is still going to be available in 10 yrs. Its fine if not, you just need to see what training you have to start adding 5yrs down the line to adapt for the future

I did this. Realized part way through my major that it didn't pay. Googled the expected pay of various other fields I was interested in until I found what I do today. It's great to do something you love and be able to put food on the table in your own place. Even if you don't love it, find something you don't hate that pays enough to be able to pursue what you actually want once you figure that out.

Also, college besties yall should have some financial education! Im like 19 and so grateful that i started reading books about it, seriously changed everything n my look on money. Pls have a financial education( it doesnt mean major in business school ) but being financially literate.

Also figure out where you are WILLING to live! My degree is mostly useless where I live but those I graduated with started at higher pay right out of school than I’ve ever been able to make just because they live in a state where they do more of the work!

I’m a job coach and I use BLS all the time with students 👍 u can cross reference it with regional databases to see locally what the demand is for a particular job 💡

Honestly I love what I do… I’m a teacher I know I’m not going to make millions, I just want to be content. The public sector isn’t going to make you millions, but it shouldn’t bankrupt you either.
