My dad cut down a tree in our back yard years ago and two baby pigeons were nesting in it so I raised them until they could fly. The mum and dad were always hanging about so I would put them in the garden everyday in a open box until one day one flew away with the mother. Then a few days later the second one flew. I believe they made a new home in a neighbours back yard and after all these years they still come to my yard for feeding everyday, its the least we can do for destroying their home. They're a big family now, at least 10 of them.

My family rescued a pigeon nearly 20 years ago, we still have that pigeon. He is such a loving bird, plays tough pigeon with us, will sit on our shoulders, he talks to us when he hears us, or we come close to his cage. Love that pigeon, we had 2 other pigeons before that others rescued and thought we were a rescue. Thankfully we were able to find a rescue shelter for those other 2 pigeons.

I have robins, blue Jays, snow birds, cardinals, blackbirds, yellow /gold finches and a type of white pigeon, they go through a large bag of bird seed weekly, and bring my heart so much joy♥️
I tell my children I'm going to New York and sit on a park bench and feed the birds there joining all the other elderly women.
