I like how there is a lot more maturity in star rail. They openly talk about people dying and being killed and because of no paimon it feels like the MC actually has original talking options. It's also nice how choosing different options actually makes the characters say different things. In genshin half the time they end up making no difference💀

I play both Genshin and Honkai Impact 3 extensively.

Honkai Starrail is basically Honkai 3 shoved into a Genshin skin. That sounds like scathing criticism, but they're actually giving us the best of both games. We have the more mature story themes from Honkai, as well as the better endgame content, and the sleeker interfaces and gameplay from Genshin.

We've also got a spiral abyss from Genshin, and the re-playable rogue-like content is almost an identical copy of the Elysian Realm from Honkai 3. The Elysian Realm has been tweaked extensively in Honkai 3, with the developers making continuous efforts to improve the gameplay.

I've really been enjoying Honkai Star rail so far.
It feels like Mihoyo learned lots of important lessons from both previous games, and now we're really benefiting from their experience with Star rail.

It's funny how they could add a "Simulated universe" to genshin also with every encounter giving you a new kind of buff. They could also make the game more difficult that way but also introducing new mechanics keeping the game interesting.

I love how theres a rickroll and a breaking bad reference in the game and so many pop culture references. Truly one of the games of all time

ah yes, the weekly bosses that aren't even a challenge because the characters and reactions they gave us are so incredibly overpowered that we can treat the weekly bosses as ordinary sidemobs. instead of them actually adding a challenging experience that isn't set out to purely frustrate you

The simulation universe is such a fun gamemode. I love that it’s not just a dps check and you can test out so many interesting builds. Plus the bosses are actually difficult and require strategy to be granted you are not over leveled when you are attempting it.

i think maybe because its an entire different team that handles Genshin, you can see it in the dialogues -- like here its more mature, less fluff and none of that Paimon bullshit. Meanwhile Genshin is like RANDOM NPC#234 that you DONT CARE will start talking about something that you wish you can just skip it, here the dialogue is not that dragging out to the point that you will groan the same way when Genshin does dialogues. also March > Paimon

as for the difficulty, like how they already mentioned they're not adding an endgame mode for that game. Meanwhile HSR already has 2 'almost an endgame' mode that doesnt lock you out with resin.

My immediate reaction after a few hours of HSR is that they took all the things that genshin players complained about and improved it in HSR.

HSR is literally the biproduct of genshin feedback serveys. Asking if we like cyberpunk 2077 and persona 4. Those two games combined with genshin improvement feedback and boom. Honkai starrail.

I’m at level 32 and I already reach a wall because no more quest to do so I have to wait until reset for dailies just wait until he reaches the same and he’s gonna complain same as usual

Genshin seems like a beta test for this game. We asked for a more vocal character with personality they put it in this game
They straight up tested the Rougelike stuff in Genshin and put it in this game
We wanted end game they put it in this game
They straight up give you a 5*
Grinding is a lot easier and makes energy usage go down a lot
Choosing the main stat for relics also huge.
This reminds me of the reason I quit WoW for FFXIV. FFXIV had all the stuff I wanted while the WoW devs refused to do any of the FFXIV QoLs and tone down WoW being a 2nd job

This is what I've been thinking for a while, every Hoyo has an "idea" that has the potential to make players happy,
they won't realize this "idea" immediately, but wait until they release a new game to realize this "idea".

They are confident that as long as they keep releasing new Characters, Stories and Areas,
players will continue to play even though the intensity is low, the important thing is to play consistently,
even if they don't release any new special content or features at all.

I feel that Genshin won't have anything new (one of which is the new combat endgame) other than new characters, stories, and areas.
If people want a wide variety of endgame content, Hoyo seems to be leading us to play their other games, one of which is HSR.
Which means we will spend more time or even money to them.
