The Irish Lighthouse History Keeper - Traditional Maritime Scenery

This film features Peter Goulding, a Dubliner and expert on the history of Irish lighthouses and lights around the entire island. The footage you see here was compiled over four years, a representation of Irish lighthouse history and their beautiful settings. Not all the lighthouses discussed in this film are visually featured in it, but I hope this film gives a good account of Irish lights for those wanting to learn more.
The list of those killed in the service of Irish lights was compiled by Peter and features a number from my own home town in days when seafaring was much more treacherous. It is fitting we can offer this short film as a permanent tribute to their sacrifice and hopefully the film is useful to their families as a record. Peter's compassion, dedication to detail and research skills really impressed me - we will likely collaborate on several more lighthouse films. You can find his wonderful research blog here:

I have always had an interest in Lighthouses the more isolated the better. Especially in my earlier "Loner" days
I would love to be a lighthouse keeper for at least a few years. Nowadays you just hear horror stories based on them.
Good interview and video footage. Good list of those that passed tending the Light.

A beautiful little video. If you lived inland and didn't know much about lighthouses this is for you. Full credit to all involved.

Very interesting. I was told that my Great Great Grandfather took the lighthouse Masters last name Foster.
I belong to the Fosters of Crosshaven Co. Cork.
