This was a beautiful game to watch; thank you for playing it and contributing your thoughts and emotions to the experience. Though I found the fight sequence between Faye and Watts to be a bit drawn out and interruptive, overall Colin’s story was incredible and capable of conveying sentiments that were extremely resonant with me. Forgive the wordiness of the following comment, I just wanted a chance to write a couple of my thoughts now that this journey has ended.

Faye, in my interpretation, seems to be a creation resulting from Colin’s loneliness, intended to fill the emptiness left by the bird following its departure. Colin’s parents were shown to be frequently absent throughout his childhood and, with the bird no longer in his life, he retreated within the comforting recesses of his vivid imagination and constructed a new friend so he wouldn’t have to face his tribulations alone. As his situation improved through the years, and he experienced success in his career and the affection of Sofia, Colin saw Faye fading from his mind until he finally realized that he could move forward without her. Relinquishing Faye made Colin feel more present and less aloof, as Sofia professes when Asher was born, though the vastness and wonder of his dreams never quite dissipated alongside his imagined friend, and the lucidity required to fully appreciate the beauty of the time he had alive was unfortunately compromised. Sofia’s mentality exhibited the opposite, and she states that she is contented with her life even knowing that alternative paths and perhaps a happier reality could have been possible for her. This is likely one of the reasons why she cannot understand Colin’s desire to hire SigCorp. Even without Faye, Colin is an escapist, an individual who employs the brilliance of their imagination to numb the pain of confronting problems directly. From my own experiences, I’ve learned that while it is sometimes curative and almost necessary to be occasionally dissonant from the contemplation of life’s callousness, ceding your awareness of reality and welcoming the immersion of fantasy compromises the potency of your ability to be present and cognizant of the happiness you do encounter. No matter the extent of the joys you face, they will inevitably seem diminutive against the backdrop of the limitless potential accessible only within the confines of your imagined, constructed reality. Impossibly high expectations corrode the enjoyment of tangible, real experiences, leaving nothing but a residual, inexplicable feeling that true satisfaction and contentment are inexorably elusive. I think this vague emptiness was perhaps what Colin was subjected to, which predicated his desire to seek the services of SigCorp despite his uncertainty and inability to articulate exactly what should be changed in order to finally attain this ideal. Yet, all he needed was Faye to cull the memory of SigCorp, as his choice to pursue their program was an immutable representation of his discontent, and instead help him to accept his life for what it was—imperfect, flawed, and categorized by the normal oscillations of highs and lows familiar to everyone.

Colin didn’t need SigCorp to show him what his reality could have been; he needed to be told that his reality was enough.

Faye, in a moment parallel to the ending of A Bird’s Story, had to come back into Colin’s life one last time to convey this very message before saying goodbye.

Think of the Green Journal like a Dream Journal. If you use one, you tend to have more vivid dreams...think of Faye as kind of a Tulpa. He was likely writing down the conversations, and then imagining them as real afterwards.

Kinda like when you read a good book for hours, and fall asleep, dreaming of what you just read, if you're into heavy reading.

I have not cried as much as I did at the last 10 minutes before the credits in a very, very long time. These game are so good and emotionally brilliant. With three of these games having made me cry, and me having loved them all, I truly cannot wait for chapter 3 of this story. Kan Gao really is an amazing creator and writer and once again, I can´t wait to see what he has in store.

To the Moon was about dealing with unavoidable disorders and irreversible events, Where this story was about imagination and reality ... I don't know which one is sadder ... or scarier.

Although this didn't hit me as hard as To the moon did, since I relate more to River's condition, since it is what I have myself, this made me feel more... empty, regarding to life, and how you won't always be fulfilled by what you choose, and isn't always what you want.

What they're doing with Watts is smart. They give you tiny pieces of information about what's going on with him, but not enough to figure it out in order to keep people interested in their games. I just wish they could release the games sooner.

Thank you for your playthrough of this! When I finished this game (especially during the last scene on the hill) I thought about your playthrough of A Bird Story and really looked forward to seeing your reaction to that scene!

Also, this game hit me harder than To the Moon. I didn't relate to Johnny as much as I did Colin; I didn't have that childhood love the way Johnny did; I related more with being isolated like Colin was in his childhood.

The ending for this one is so emotional, and I love it. It doesn't matter if Faye was an imaginary friend (Or a Tulpa, but let's not get into that). To the outside world, she might not have been real. But to him she was. I was actually in tears when she left him.
I'm not going into why (because I know no one would care, and no one's probably going to read this anyway) But I can extremely relate to Colin. I definitely felt this ending more than To The Moon's, and I can't wait for myself to one day come back to Swing's playthrough of this and experience it again. I really hope a 4th game, is in the future. Because these people know how to write REALLY good stories.

As always, love your channel and keep it up :)

A man that can show emotion is very rare. But this and the first one are very good games. Thanks for the play though 👍🏾👍🏾

When she said 'you brought me into this world'
I immediently quoted spongebob "i brought you into this world and I'm about to take you out" where he is holding an eraser to doodlebob and started laughing/hating myself for laughing
