In this video, I set up a gotek floppy emulator the Atari STe refurbishment project. As it is set up, it can also be easily used in an Amiga as well.

Hey brother, great video. I think we would have been best friends as kids..LoL. Just got a 1040 to bring back my Nostalgic modding years..

Very helpful video to see all the steps from a "blank" Gotek, flashing firmware and putting it into the Atari.
I did the same with my STE, also with OLED and Rotary (plus speaker), even with the same small USB drive (it's a Sandisk right?). I hate using normal size sticks for this purpose, it just looks ugly when they stick out that much!

Followed this step by step but I'm just getting E34 on my Gotek. Haven't installed any mods but the Gotek just refuses to read any USB drives. I have done research however I'm getting multiple and some times conflicting information on what the issue may be.

I notice that one company (online shopping) has different versions of Gotek units. Do I just get any 720K, 34-pin, 5-volt Gotek or is there something else I need to look for?

If I buy a Gotek, can I just connect it to the Atari, stock, and have to run? Does it need the software before it will work?

Good video. Are you going to do the sound mod? Then it will (kind of) sound like a floppy drive when reading the image files.
