Heraklion-This is the capital of Crete (Greece)

I will show you the Crete's capital. Will walk around the town and doing the usual until my head spins.

Heraklion always was the Capital of Crete..At Minoan times was Knossos and Heraklion was Knosso's port.Chania city became Capital at Ottoman occupation times 'couse of the natural port of Souda.Heraklion port was very small back then, and only at 1925 starts the construction for the new and much bigger port of the city.When the Ottomans left Crete Heraklion became the Capital again.. At the center of Crete and as the biggest city all time(population now is 200.000 people)..Heraklion has a lot of historic places to see but you must know where are they.And a lot of Museums..Archaeological museum is one of the most important in Europe..
