Exactly, UV is the spectrum of light being emitted and LED is a type of a bulb. This is one of the most common misconceptions! Glad you're doing these videos :]

LED lamps are generally safer because they cure polish faster, meaning less UV exposure. Also, because they only emit UVA rays, they reduce the broader exposure that UV lamps produce.

I laughed... with all the day to day exposure to things far worse that nobody thinks twice about but nail lamps are the devil. 😂👏

Hi Julie, Really appreciate this video. Could you let me know what sources you used to back this up? Like, how do you find out what type of light is being emitted from each machine? I'm trying to read up on this but keep finding conflicting opinions!

So if walking outside for fifteen minutes = same UV light. Why don’t gel nails simply just dry in 15 minutes without the lamp?

My dear, I am new to this nail polish curing with lamps. Just bought a UV lamp and I saw that these lamps come with all kind of WATT power . Some higher some lower. I chose one in btw. Does this really matter?

have no idea what they're talking about but a nail tech does? Umm, no.

I understand UV LEDs are more powerful than UV CFL Lamps.. so I'm looking for a powerful germacide UVC LED to use for sterilizing/disinfecting. No settings/timer, just plug it in.

All of these devices I've seen... like the 320W SUN X21 (72 Leds) only come in 365-405nm. I'm looking for the shorter wavelength (higher frequency) side of the spectrum.. i.e. UV-C (180-280nm).. not UVB (280-315nm) or UVA (315-400nm)
