Delaying is good, it worked a lot for me and I forget them and I sit with my feelings as well. You got this everyone 💪

Delaying the compulsion was the best compromise for my young daughter with OCD. She has overcome so many OCD fears/obsessions by first delaying the compulsions!

I have this ritual of thinking something over and over until I get it perfect. I’m finally ready to break it. Thank you for your videos!

Wow that makes sense. Never thought 💭 about it that way. Thanks Nate, I believe that it could work for me and for other people suffering with this ocd illness 🙏

Calm on the INSIDE. Then your calm on the OUTSIDE. That’s it…… as above so below. As within as without. Saved me

THANK YOU SO MUCH. This helped so much with my brain telling me certain things over and over again. I feel so much better.

Not the 'devilish' compulsions that I face, <sigh>

It's like my brain can't be sure in the moment, but later in the day if I think about it my mind is much clearer.many times I don't even do the compulsion because the nervous urge to do just isn't there.love to all❤

This is useful in any situation. “I can do this for just 30 seconds, and then I can stop.” 30 seconds turns into 60, then five minutes, then ten!

My therapist told me that because I basically don't think that someone is gonna be hurt, or something bad is gonna happen, if I didn't do my more common compulsions...that I didn't really have OCD. I insisted and she diagnosed me with OCD type unknown

Yup- that's the $$, Nathan. All about relearning!

this is how I gained more control over my "googling for self-reassurance" compulsion :) still get the itch and the thoughts, but it doesn't consume hours of my day unless I'm having a bad brain day.

I some how over the years developed this technique, my rationale being if the intrusive thought/urge for the compulsion is genuinely important I would remember to do it at the end of the day ….I’ve never ended up doing it as by the end of the day I couldn’t care less about the compulsion, delaying it allows the irrational thought /urge to weaken and allows you to see through the irrationality.
