Replaced in about six minutes! These videos save countless hours and money. Still can't believe a switch that's been used about ten times in seven years could go bad. But it did. Thanks much for showing this.

Thank you Jim!! Just ordered mine. I actually had my window replaced a few years ago because of the dreaded defrost not working and was thinking i needed to fork out $2k for another replacement just to get the slider working.

A quick note - I made a video on an actuator replacement and I never understood negative reviews for someone taking their time to produce these self help videos - baffles me. Well done Jim.

Picked up the part from local Ford dealer for $44 as the repair needed to happen quickly. Simple repair, took about 15 minutes. Thanks for the clear, precise video, it was very helpful!

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I was all ready to replace the motor but saw this and decided to try it first. They had the part at my local dealership and I replaced it in the parking lot. It’s working just fine now after being broken for 2 years!

I truly appreciate you making this informative video. Saved me a lot money and aggravation. I brought my vehicle in for an 11AM appt to troubleshoot my 2011 F150 rear slider window. When I called @330 to check the status, it was not even looked at. At aprox 4PM I picked up my vehicle. As a novice, I was able to look up the failure on "You Tube", watched your video & ordered the exact replacement part as you mentioned. Part was delivered in 2 days and installed. Problem solved. This is a known Ford issue and would have been easily solved. However, I used up a day of vacation time with my vehicle in the shop. The service writer was great and he apologized for the dealership. Outside looking in, it seems that the call center has no idea of the workload at this respective location. Either need more techs, or a call center that knows the pulse of the service center. Disappointed with the dealership. Happy with your detailed explanation.

Jim, I can't thank you enough for your help. I've questioned the switch for a while, but could not get a mechanic to concur. Your repair worked beautifully! Well done.

Thank you so much! I had expected to pay about $600 at the dealership. I ordered the switch and got it 2 days later. I had a window that would not close and was so frustrated. Your video saved me a lot of heart ache and a lot of money!!! Thanks again!

Thanks from Alberta, Canada, for the video - made the repair much easier. The clips were a little different and I had one more case to remove because I have a Ford 350 . The small screwdriver came in handy right from the start but thank you for taking the time to post this. Saved our family big bucks to repair ourselves. Looking at the number of views, I would say shame on Ford, they obviously have a problem with these switches that they are not acknowledging.

I had the same problem with a 2013 f150 lariat, ordered the part and thanks to this video it took me only 5 minutes to fix.

You Rock Jim!! Just replaced mine on my 2014 F150 Limited. Dealership quoted me $360. Fixed it for $34!

Thank you so much for this! This mechanic was telling me it was a motor that needed to be replaced and when we went to auto zone it said it was over $700! He gave me another option. He told me he could just remove the back seats and take out the motor and close it manually but this meant we werent going to be able to open it again. Well, now all I have to do is clean all that mess I have back there from all the tape I put lol

You are da man for posting this video!! 2nd F150 in a row I have had where this slider has failed. My local Ford dealer had no answer other than for me to bring it in and they would replace the motor or the entire window assembly!! What a croc and a ripoff! $32 vs. thousands!!

Fixed my Sliding Rear Window switch yesterday. I pulled the light/switch assembly from the sunglass storage compartment and then exchanged the switches. Thanks for the video!

Yep...Dale's note below is right. I followed the directions explicitly and inadvertently threw away the trim assembly bracket. Didn't catch the mistake until a few days later. My "finished" job looks just like the result in the video, i.e., no trim.

Great video! This helped me out a lot. I was in a bind where my window was stuck open and I was waiting for the part to ship. I unplugged the switch, plugged it back in, and it closed part way. After a couple more attempts at the switch failed, I tapped the back of the switch with my box knife, and it closed completely. Now I can sleep soundly knowing that the window is not open while I wait for my new switch.

I found you can remove the bezel on the oem switch and snap it into the replacement to get the cleaner look it had originally. You can snap it on fully assembled.

Great video! I did exactly what you said and got my window fixed. I took my truck to Ford and they said they can get to it in two weeks. I saved a bunch of money! I have a 2013 F150
