Patrick Mahomes, second of his name, was drafted by the Chiefs seven years ago and has played six full seasons as their franchise quarterback, with the current season to be his seventh full season as a starter and eighth overall. If he were to retire today, he would ALREADY be a guaranteed first-ballot inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame upon eligibility and nearly unanimously considered to be one of the top 5 greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. He's accomplished so much already from an individual and team standpoint, and yet there's still so many pages left to be written in his story. I am not a Chiefs fan, but I feel so fortunate to have witnessed #15's career from the very start to the present the whole way through. As it stands, the only quarterbacks who still indisputably stand above Mahomes are Tom Brady and Joe Montana, and Brady may well be the only one in a few years time. A belated happy 29th birthday to the best player in the NFL today, and may he and the Chiefs continue their reign of terror for many years to come, for I bow down to the greatness of your dynasty and welcome you as our new overlords.
