Plastic pellets called nurdles are often found mixed in with the sand at our local beaches and are causing big issues in our ecosystem.

This is not ok. They write tickets to truckdrivers for unsecured load for this and also add a hazmat clean up to the bill. Why not the railroad?

Another problem that didn't need to happen.

Respect and admiration to the many people involved in this effort and making this report. Its clearly a threat to the environment we all share on this planet that can certainly be directly ameliorated and these organizations are playing the long game while simultaneously pursuing the hands on work that they themselves can directly accomplish. Thats the future of all forms of conservation be they small or large, every effort is critical. I do appreciate the irony of the plastic fribee yet compromises are an essential part of every effort for the greater good. Finally, at the risk of being a little creepy, i was amazed at how attractive every single person in this report was both in looks and intelligent commentary including the news that flowery dress! Keep up the great work!!

Nurdles ? where I use to work in the automotive industry, we called them Resin . A petroleum byproduct . It's in EVERYTHING !!

That is called 'Resin', and is used in injection molding. Its a shame, too .. because that is not recycled plastic washing up on your beaches .. it hasn't even been MADE into anything yet.

If the common man had a business where when they were transporting their product they were littering you know the government would come down on them.

Anyone else remember the "Plastics Make it Possible" ads from late 80s through the 90s? 🙁

Funny we only use plastic for almost everything now, why not go back to paper and glass?

Instead arguing about who's politics are right, which gender or skin tone is superior, or who's nation is the best, we unite as a species and focus our efforts into restoring our once pristine environments?🤔

That’s because huge cargo containers fall off ships into the oceans and the contents spill out into the ocean.

507 billion pounds of plastic represents a lot of money. It hard to think that much is just wasted like that.

Remember when cosmetic companies were putting them in our hair and skin care products? Ironic that the 'tear catcher' is plastic.

I've seen piles of this stuff on the railroad tracks when I was a kid.

So Are them there nurdle catching frisbees.... Are they made from a plastic that's made from these same sorts of toxic nurdles?

It's not just nurdles, how about all the drink bottles citizens just throw out their cars or leave when they picnic or go fishing.

We keep complaining about plastic don’t go back to glass so why are we complaining and not changing back to glass?

Back in the early 80s I was a young guy looking for work got a job water pressure cleaning inside of the train cars that carry these pellets The chemical inside of the container I’m not sure it was the cleaning agent or the pellets but I remember that it would make my lips and face numb Guyle Johnson

That’s what people called them when I was a kid, never knew that’s what they were actually called.

Thank you, Clare, and everyone who is helping with the constant clearing of nurdles on the beaches. I hope more people join in and get hunting and petitioning the EPA for the law change.
