Cirrus SR20 lean assist and IFR airborne reports

Pilot Vlog 6: This week I fly from Shepparton to Moorabbin Airport in Australia, departing visual and picking up our IFR clearance when airborne. Plus we look at Cirrus' Lean Assist to cruise at our best economy settings, and chatting about Air Traffic Control along the way.

As stated, I am not an instructor and not qualified to teach, this video simply shows how I lean the Cirrus and it here for entertainment only. If you have questions about lean assist or anything you see here, please chat to your Flying Instructor first.

When you hit "normalize", the EGT bars go away. How are you monitoring the temps if they aren't there?

Hi Stefan. How much different is the transition from PA28 (my current ride) to specifically the SR20 (poss new ride). Know this is a 'how long is a piece of string' type q but anything I should be aware of from your transition?

How do you find piloting with a control stick versus a control column? If you are right handed isn't it harder to sit on the left side and control the plane with your left hand? Sorry if someone has asked this before.

Why do we still have a mixture control in airplanes burning regular fuel? Why is this not automated by computerized systems like those in the automotive world?

I seriously recommend you do an advanced pilot seminar next time they are in Sydney.. ever since doing that course, its either full rich, on 50 LOP, nothing else.
