This movie was eye opener for many indian parents who keeps very high academic expectations on their children and always want them to be either engineers or doctors.

I’m dyslexic and couldn’t read until 5th grade. This makes me so emotional man. If more teachers were like this it wouldn’t be the issue it is. 1 out of almost 40 teachers cared enough to find out what was wrong

this touched a nerve for me, seeing because of my Autism I've always been misunderstood and seen as nothing but a disabled kid.
this has basically destroyed my life, having been stuck in a negative spiral for more then 10 years, I've lost count after ten years.
so seeing a boy being understood for who he is and what he can do, touched me deeply, because my help always came and still comes too late.
the only reason I'm able to express this now, is because I recently found medicine that is the solution to a problem of mine that has kept me in this negative spiral for so many years.
(the worst part is that people online have shown me that they'd rather be jerks than open themselves up to others.
so even if I opened up now, I won't be surprised when people try to belittle me further.
but that is the sad reality we all live in, people would rather act like jerks and childish, than try to act like that teacher did.)

This teacher is one of my favorite people in cinema.
Just hearing a recap makes me teary.
Such a kind and passionate teacher who cares and is open.
To have a student who was destroyed from learning. That's disheartening and seeing his dedication being be so undermined is really heart breaking.

This movie reduced me to tears. When my my mum and stepdad were told that I had Dyslexia it of course broke their hearts when I was diagnosed with it from 5 years old. I never let it got to me and I progressed and took each day as it came along. Today I am an author of two poetry books and I thank my parents and teachers for helping me from school to university. Helping others has made me a more confident person as I was very nervous to talk about this to anyone.

As a slow learner myself that story brought tears. Every teacher reported I had great potential but never applied myself. I was lucky and found my passion in the plant world. Thk u my day has been blessed.

This movie deserved an Oscar. Nostalgic. Sometimes our country comes out with gems like these. This is one of the movies you can't find a fault in coz you don't want to.

Man this made me cry. It tells us that we all have different intelligence. It also tells us that being bad at academic is not dumb, being bad at academic is because of lack of focus, student that hate studying, and there's a lot of reasons. It doesn't mean you are dumb. Everyone should know this.

I’m not an emotional person, but this made me tear up because I know what it’s like to be very misunderstood by everyone in my life, always being labeled as “lazy””problematic” and “dumb” when my brain worked differently, and like him, I was very good at other subjects like art, writing, drama and other creative subjects.
Though it’s a movie, I’m still happy for him.

I remember during college, our professor let us watch this movie and we all cried in few scenes in this movie and we're all like "I wanna be Ram, " "I wanna be the best teacher that I can be." This is really an inspiring movie for us aspiring educators that time.

Wow! This video made me emotional. If all teachers and parents are like this, life will be a lot more easier for students going through such condition.

This movie shows the lasting impacts of punishing and neglecting children who don't do well in school just because they think differently. It was inspirational to see the creative ways Ishaan learned writing.

The part where he lost his creativity and thought of what it would be like to jump from the heights, reminded me of when I couldn't score above 90% in grade 12 and my parents considered me to be a failure and blamed it on my art. After all these years, it suddenly feels a bit too relatable, feels like I lost many years because there wasn't anyone to save me then.
