The War Hammer was perhaps the ideal weapon for use against a knight encased in plate steel! The heavy hammer head could crush the strongest suit of plate with just a few blows, and the back spike could open that armor like a can opener!

I got kicked out of my gang last week. Everyone showed up to the meeting with Glocks, S&W, H&K, Sig Sauers, etc and I brought my Cold Steel War Hammer. :( . I did manage to join some LARPers on my way home thou. Not a total loss.

People can say whatever they want about Lynn but when I observe his movements, it is very apparent to me that he is highly trained to deliver these precise strikes on these targets in specific areas. He makes it look easy but its not, as a HEMA practitioner, I would know.

Have you guys considered using real armor for the tests? Like non-butted non-stainless chainmail, or perhaps something better than mild steel plate armor?

Anyone else notice that every strike her performed was pretty much perfectly placed (anatomically) to kill with a single blow? The first strike to the 15th C. armor was a direct hit to the eye. The second was a perfect shot to the to edge of the helm allowing for the dramatic bend in the armor which would prove fatal. The chest blows were perfect for heat and lung shots... I wouldn't fight that man unless I was defending my family.

I have a small collection of old melee combat weapon and though swords get all the glamour and flash, the war hammer and mace are the two most universally destructive and deadly weapons out there. Simple, easy to use by anyone and hugely effective.

I like that the Cold Steel weapons are being demonstrated by a bigger/heaftier guy. Just cause you a big guy doesn't mean you pack a punch or have some solid muscle under your padding.
