What is Ethnobotany?

This is my first ever video in Pop Botany! This is an informative video with a brief discussion of ethnobotany, the scientific study of using traditional knowledge of plants for medical and other purposes. The early knowledge of plant medicine gave rise to some of the important raw materials for modern pharmaceuticals, but this is also one of the practical foundations for herbalists as we know them today.
