I’m studying to be a teacher, and one of the things my education professor has said to us many times is to not interrupt your own class. By arguing with a kid, you’re doing exactly that. You’re wasting time because you feel disrespected. Most of the time, you just need to say something like “phones away please” and the student will get it.

Something I personally loved was when one of my old teachers would give surprise quizes at the end of class if she saw people on their phones during class.

Those that payed attention and took notes had an easy time, the ones on their phones either dropped the class or learned their lesson😂
