Log Cabin on a budget! DIY construction hack

preview_player
Показать описание
Doug and Stacy live in a log cabin they built from scratch. They are now building another building and designed it to look like the log cabin but use a fraction of the wood. This is a pretty simple way that anyone can have the look and feel of a log cabin. Thanks for watching and please share the video

About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

Self sufficiency doesn't have to mean living in the dark ages or making things harder than they have to be. Keep doing what your doing!

We just put a new mobile home on 24 acres. It was undeveloped and my driveway is 1600 feet straight through the trees. ❤️ This property is a dream come true for me. We intended to build a cabin or something alternative but COVID put everything so far behind & so expensive we finally opted to buy a mobile so we could get onto the property. We are beefing it up and using native stone on a stem wall. I want to figure out how to do this siding to the mobile. We still plan to build a cabin by the pond for us when the last two kids move out but for now we are trying to make our less than dream home feel more like a frontier home. This is on the top of my list. THANKYOU!

Adventurous spirit, yes!! Love it. Sneaky way to make a "log" cabin but looks great. Love the stain.

Kudos to whoever is operating the drone. Very steady.
I think you might have been in a band of some sort, in your previous life, Doug. Just my opinion.
Country life is the greatest. No stress. Well, not as much stress as the city life.
Those are HUGE logs up at the sawmill. I am assuming those came from the Ozarks? Buy local.
You all complement each other. You're one cohesive unit, aka married couple. Your legacy will live on.
