I'm surprised these videos don't get more attention they're really done well. I guess the community's ignorance to offmeta makes people not bother to experiment. As a support main I understand it's really nice to be able to expand the amount of champions you can use and keep the support role fresh

I played Kayle support before her rework, she was definitely better back then. Also i'm pretty sure that her W's mana cost was made bullshit high because there was one patch when pros played her as a support, but Riot didnt want any of that to be a meta pick.

hi guys, i'm an otp kayle support too and i can say it's really good. Yes, she can have an hard time in early but guess what, her q is what makes her viable. The slow is great, the dmg scales with ap and is also really good, goes through minions and shred armor and mr by 15% which is a good amount. You can trade, you can poke (her e doesn't cost any mana) and the heal provides ms to both kayle and her target or closest ally, which is why it costs so much mana... But she has a high mana regen with mana ruban, i've near to 0 mana problem anyway. She's really good with all in champions and agressive adc !

I was expecting some kind of aggressive build but its full on enchanter build, there is one thing you're mistaken comparing kayle with soraka tho:
You can spam soraka's heal constantly, even in level 2-3 and you don't lose HP if you land her Q, while kayle has a big cooldown for her healing plus it grants you a movementspeed. Sure it might have more healing but if you land Q with soraka, her passive allows you to heal your adc so much more than actual healing, plus it also grants adc a small movement boost too, so you can't compare kayle's healing with soraka cuz soraka DOES so much better healing than kayle even in low levels.
So because of this cooldown gap, I think moonstone would be better choice on kayle instead of mandate cuz it provides ability haste per legendary item if your only job with kayle is peeling for adc, plus you cannot proc mandate as often without rylai's.
Another problem is mana, you cannot just spam your heals and Q recklessly, but I think you can fix that problem by taking x3 fearie charm on first back to increase your mana regeneration, one for mythic one for flowing water one for ardent.
The only decent good side of kayle support in my opinion is her ultimate, other than that, everything else seems really boring.
Protecting only one ally, no CC, no actual peel (no constant healing, its just for one time skills, do or die), no potential about carrying games, squishy and slow in early game, too late impact and too slow scaling, no good gold income, not good about roaming, might be good about warding and clearing wards but if enemy has speedy boi's like udyr, you're pretty much lost the vision priority too, all and all its REALLY not a good support pick (can easily be crushed at level 2-3-6 dives) and I want him(chron) to come and tell us "in which cases you should pick kayle support, to counter what, to do what and in which cases you should avoid fights or build items differently"
This is -just like poppy support- must be a really specific pick when it comes to playing a support role. Thats why I kinda need more detailed explanation.
Seriously tho, I likely prefer kayle as adc rather than support, considering he also takes aery(?) Whats the big idea with kayle support for real? (Except her R)

Great video, however as a 1.500.000 mastery points Kayle OTP, IMO Kayle support is basically Senna, it's just Senna has abilities to do support job sooner, better and she also scales harder than Kayle support. Kayle has low base damage with high AP ratio therefore she is much more stronger when buying straight AP items and not AP support items. She needs at least 200 AP to stay revelent in game and need at least 400 AP to become a hypercarry (which is why Kayle's meta build right now is Nashor - Riftmaker - Deathcap to reach that power spike as soon as possible, with dark seal / Mejai in between due to how broken it is since pre season 11 and help Kayle snowball the game to reach her power spike earlier).

A couple days ago i got one Kayle main in lobby and as I think, he just have been auto filled on support role. He asked me about can he try support as Kayle when I was on Vayne. I will not sure about that, but give him a try.
The main difference in gameplay when i stay with meta supports - playing with Kayle is about to speed. Her W have crazy boost to speed and also this guy takes Shurelia, with that build we just cosplaying Hecarim and rollover enemies. What also important, her ultimate, when (what you talked about in video) it casted in right moment, it's just negate most of enemy hard control and damage, so after that winning that teamfight will be more easy. All of that it's just my emotions of one game in platinum elo, but damn, I really want to stay once again with good Kayle support.

p.s.: after all this cacophony, I want to say I'm sorry about poor English level. I do my best..
