My deaf friend finally was able to hear music with one of these with volume level ∞, thanks for this!

That is the best calculator I have ever seen.

That motorised volute control would be the only reason I'd buy this thing. Forget impressive sound quality, that dial is so gorgeous

I don't care about 80% of the topics you're covering but on the other side I'm addicted to your channel. Don't know why. Maybe you're just good at it. Maybe you just get me.

Listening to you geek out over the motorized volume control was entertaining, as I was also geeking out over it.

As someone who just got really into your hi-fi and tech oddity videos I'm excited you've been putting out videos so frequently! Good stuff dude!

I love seeing a product that looks and performs like equipment from the era in which all the companies were "making their name", combined with a market full of people looking to set up a very nice Hi-Fi system. Great video, as always. Beautiful piece, I love equipment that is not only what I described above, but also not jumping into the insanely-priced (and to be fair, often insanely built/developed, etc.) category.

@Techmoan Hey, If you look at the video where you say "it´s definitely 120v." You can see that there´s connection points for 230v.
Snip the connection for 120v, and solder the two points where there´s a line and says 230v. The internals will now be wired for that voltage.
They usually only make one version of these mainboards (with internal PSU´s) and wire them for the region in which they will be sold

It's called a toggle switch! I was blessed to have lived through the Audio Golden Age. 1965-1985. Many companies did not survive the recession of 1979.
It was incredible. The quality. The infinite selection. Dozens and dozens of the variations of the same component to select from. And the competition meant rock bottom prices here in the U.S.

Just watched it again...I like when you open up stuff and describe all the bits with amazing color/shape accuracy. I needed the laugh, Thanks again!

Your review of the inside of the amp was very informational. Thank you very much for that.

You might be able to convert it to 230v by removing the 120v (W301) jumper seen at 9:44 and soldering it into the empty (W302) holes marked 230v. Just be sure to check the layout on the PCB and schematics if you try this.

I love to watch your vids before bed... they are so relaxing and informative. I'm not even interested in audio but I still watch your vids. Thanks for the great content and keep it up.

I'm a new subscriber, I want to compliment your retro Hi-Fi choices, and your attitudes about classic components. It DOES still have it's place in modern society. Please keep up the convservation so that we can continue to see beauty in Hi-Fi.

My Pioneer VSX-401 also has a motorised volume control knob as well and was the coolest thing I had seen when we got it as a child.
