I'm sure a lot of you already know, but on May 23rd 2024 the remake for the GameCube CLASSIC Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will release for Nintendo Switch!
I'll be playing the game LIVE the second it releases at MIDNIGHT! GET HYPE!

YouTube does have a 12 hour stream limit, so I probably won't finish the game in one single stream. I'll be back with more once I've gotten some sleep.
Also keep in mind I won't be reading that much text or talk to NPC's. This first playthrough will be a first look at mechanics, oddities, classic exploits and general game-feel/improvements. A more slow and casual look is sure to come later.

I will of course try to pay attention to what's new. The Shadow Sirens and Vivian changes come to mind. Though I am also very excited for all the changed and BRAND NEW music.

Let's hope Intelligent Systems and Nintendo did our treasured classic justice!

Dumb theater kid here to explain something: the shy guys that control the stage are wearing black because they're backstage members, and wearing black allows us to blend in more when moving around in the dark behind the actors. I noticed that when playing the remake and thought it was a really cool detail!!!

I absolutely love how Crump and the X-naut sounds are almost all old timey bleep bloops, fits with them being so alien and tech-y

I didn't like Goombella's voice clips at first, but the little "Yah!" at the start of doing a Tattle won me over.

I just realized if the crystal star can bring back Prince Mush then maybe the crystal star is also the reason Koops' dad was able to survive in Hooktails stomach for a decade.

39:00 - what? No, junior is third year. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, same as high school. Huh, I had heard that different countries did pre-university education in different ways, but I thought university structure was basically the same everywhere. (Also, maybe the professor also teaches at high school, but I doubt that, given that he looks old enough to be tenured.)

Something I noticed in Petalburg - people are referring to Hooktail with she/her pronouns, which is correct, but I don't remember them doing that in the original - as far as I remember, we weren't told about Hooktail being a woman until Gloomtail reveals that she's his sister.

Also I know you were happy that the west rogueport shop password was the same, but skipped Ishnail's new theme doing it early.
There are A LOT of NPCs that just have their own theme song now. It's kinda ridiculous!

it's only been a few hours and he already forgot that running away gets harder the more you do it without fighting battles.

You won't actually see challenging bars to fill up until you try it more.

Im struggling super badly with the timing of moves. I can’t power bounce or superguard to save my life lol. Can’t even really time normal jumps. Didn’t think I’d struggle so much but it’s still fun!
