Bayou Sara Spring Flood 2018

Started at the last dry part of Solitude Rd., got into main channel of Bayou Sara at the low water bridge, and went up to both the LA 66 Iron Bridge over Big Bayou Sara and the Solitude Rd. bridge over Little Bayou Sara. Couldn't go farther either way due to insufficient water. The south wind straight up the channel increased as we progressed and was making whitecaps towards the end due to the fetch of over 1 mile south of the confluence of Big and Little Bayou Sara.

Was in my Native Watercraft Slayer Propel but left the pedal-propeller assembly at home to just paddle it. This boat paddles quite well without the drive unit aboard and I wanted to give that a real test. 4-1/4 miles was enough, especially in a strong wind. This is a very heavy boat and it wore me out.
