Every time he lifts his arms I am reminded of what he endured for the US. Made me sick when people joked about this. I'm an oldschool liberal (non-leftist) and didn't support his political agenda but always had heartfelt respect for that guy.

As a non-american, McCain is a man I disagree with on almost every issue, yet I can admire his principled nature. Of course, the war in iraq was bad, but most of the public supported the war at the time.
