“Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs” (September 18th, 2009).

Happy 15th anniversary to this movie. Released in theaters September 18th, 2009. When the torchlight ignition animates on the Columbia Pictures logo, the flame can be seen for a split second. The text is slightly smaller and the 1998 alternate fanfare is in PAL/high tone (104%, double tone for international prints). When the fanfare is almost done, a banana flies down from the top right and knocks the Torch Lady off the pedestal, sending her and the torch to the right. The clouds transition from this to the Sony Pictures Animation logo. The SPA logo is accompanied by the movie’s opening song called “Swallow Falls” by Mark Mothersbaugh. On the movie’s early development reel, clouds cover the cloud background, a sandwich hits the Torch Lady instead and a male voiceover says “Columbia Pictures presents. The best movie I have ever seen.” This is Sony Pictures Animation’s first movie to have a variant in the Columbia Pictures logo and also to be presented in 2.35:1 widescreen format also known as CinemaScope format and this is also Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s first movie together.

I remember going to the movies when this came out. I went to see it with my great aunt and her sister, I was around 4 at that time. We went to sit down and I remembered the movie was showing a trailer to megamind, when suddenly the screen froze and the audio came to a sudden halt. The screen went to black and I can vaguely remember a special technical difficulty screen showing Steve confused with the text on top "we are having technical difficulties, please stand by" and the screen went black. The video of the megamind preview again but no audio. The screen went black again. The same technical difficulties screen pops up again. And the screen went black for about 3 minutes. All of the sudden, the movie begins and the Columbia picture intro begins. Because it was so loud and sudden, it scared me a lot. So thanks Columbia picture for making my childhood dream of TV's turned off in the dark my nightmare because I was afraid of them suddenly turning on and blasting this intro at a very loud volume.

The spacing between the lady, the "COLUMBIA" text, and the byline is the same as in the 1.85:1 version of the logo. Normally, the scope version of the enhanced logo has the "COLUMBIA" text appearing slightly bigger and the lady and byline slightly smaller.

I love this movie although the scene when flies was falling down a hole 🕳️ with the twirler rope and same catches it was painful 😖 when she stabbed her arm on the shape peanut brittle and got a peanut allergy
