Honda clock wrong after 2022 Y2K22 (see update video)

UPDATE: It appears as of late August 2022, the clock issue is mostly resolved. Now you can set time in infotainment, and it will feed to the LCD clock. The date continues to be wrong, but it’s kind of irrelevant. Nobody uses the calendar or reminders in a 2010 car. I posted a quick update:

My Honda Odyssey clocks are now both wrong after 1/1/2022 switch. Setting the clock as in past doesn’t work. Many reports of same issue. Similar to “Y2K” software bugs when clocks switched to 1/1/2000. Good job Honda…

Microsoft Exchange 2016 and 2019 servers use a malware scanning engine that makes use of a signature file storing dates in the 32-bit integer format int32.

The largest possible number that can be stored in 32 bits is 2147483647, but while dates in 2021 were stored in the format 2111231XXXX - which is December 31, 2021, 2022 was stored as 2201010001 for a minute past midnight on January 1, 2022.

This is larger than the maximum allowed by int32 and led to a series of time validation errors in Exchange servers, causing mail not to be sent out.

Microsoft quickly released a fix in the form of a script file that tricked the server into thinking it was December 33, 2021 - but the software giant is working on a longer-term solution.

It seems as of late August 2022, Honda has mostly fixed this issue. See my update:

Thank you, I thought I was the only one with this annoying problem. We are probably millions of Honda owners affected by this error.

Thank you for making this video. I have exactly the same issue on my 2009 CRV 2WD-EXL with navigation. Very frustrating to know that a fix will be months away...thanks Honda!

I have the same problem with my 2010 Accord with Navi. I noticed it today I was thinking it was car. I'm a tech for Honda & I'm on vacation I just refuse to go work & see if any tech bulletins showed up. When I go back to work I'll see if Honda has a fix for it. When I go back to work I'll keep everybody posted on whoever has the same problem.

Honda really needs to step up! It’s not life threatening like the defective air bag in my 2008 civic exl!!! We need more people to want this issue addressed

Super annoying! I rely on the time and date so much. I tried to fix it and thought something was wrong with the radio or navi. Thanks for this video. it together! 2007 Honda CRV

At 12:50ish Disconnect Negative Battery Cable. At 01:00 your local time immediately connect Battery Cable back. Now you are sync back with your local time. Don't bother adjusting DST, + or - on Hours & Minutes or On/Off to sync with the GPS, it doesn't work.

I am so happy I found this video and community! My 2011 Ridgeline's Nav system spontaneously restarted itself while I was driving 12/30/21. On Sun, 1/2/22, like so many of you, I was out running errands but when I got home, I noticed the clock was wrong on the Nav and on the radio dial. Have tried many times to reset it; could only get to that option maybe twice out of all those times. This is beyond ridiculous. Thanks Gabe and everyone for making me feel better anyway! I'm happy to know I haven't lost my mind just yet. ;-)

This just happened to my 2011 Honda CRZ. So glad this was posted. I was going crazy thinking when I had it inspected on December 31, 2021 they had done something to the system.

I have the same problem with my 2013 Ridgeline. I had a new battery installed and thought that that was the problem but now I see many share this. I tried adjusting and even went to the Honda dealer but I never asked them to adjust the clock, I figured once they got my code for the navi I could do it on my own, WRONG.. Thanks to everyone sharing, I guess the only answer is to wait for our beloved HONDA to come up with a fix.

THIS SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO MY 2010 ODYSSEY!!! It is driving me crazy.... when I try to adjust my clock's hours/min it only lets me get to 2 for the hour before it zips back to 12

Thank you for sharing! I thought I was going crazy. Totally sucks because I tend to rely on the display for time.
