Some of these were stupid.  I mean, I haven't heard Xerox used as a verb in probably close to 20 years.  Everybody says to copy or photocopy.

The word dog is actually a trademark of the the WWF, the generic term is 'four legged carnivorous canine', if you say dog they can sue you.

In Canada we call vaccuum cleaners Hoovers (which is a vaccuum cleaner brand).
In Brazil we call steel wool "Bombril" (a popular brand of steel wool), while chocolate milk is often called "Nescau" or "Toddy" (two popular brands of chocolate milk powder).

Vaseline, band aid, jello, vaporub/Vicks, Kleenex, etc our world is filled with brand names! Also I remember my teachers would always say xerox and while I had absolutely no idea what they were saying I eventually realized that it meant copy and only until I got a little older did I realize it was a brand of copiers etc lol at least that doesn't make me feel old! Haha

So if these are all brand names... what are the original names of the objects and products shown?

Why would these words not be trademarked? We might use them in everyday language but companies don't want other competitors to come in and just use it as their own
